Thank you to all who have donated, contributed to and helped at Yack Station.

Linton Lethlean has donated an original pot belly stove for a railway guard's van which we will be using for our Rail Museum. The visitors will appreciate the warmth.

Michael & Linda Meek, some of our neighbours, supplied photos of the original station and a copy of an article from the Border Mail, dated July 27 1991.

This pick was donated to the Yack Station collection by Mr Ian Campbell.

Ian found the pick up in the early 1970’s in the forest between Yackandandah & Beechworth beside an old water race constructed for the gold mining.

Ian was in the army at the time working on an exercise when he noticed the steel protruding from the earth. When examined closely you can see the forge marks where the steel was wrought by hand.

Daryl Gregory from Wangaratta, sent copies of photos and the original engineering drawings of the rail track construction from Beechworth to Yackandandah.

Mas and Andrew Vile of Burrumbuttock kindly donated an  upright piano for use in the gallery space.

Ms Sue Bell of Yackandandah has donated two kerosene lamps used by Station Officers to signal to the train driver. We think they originated from the Cudgewa Station and are very grateful to Sue for her kind offer.

Neil Padbury from Shibui Bonsai, supplied a Bonsai Callistemon for display at the opening.

Helmut Reeb donated this cast iron "Beware of Trains" sign.

Can you help? There are still a few items we would love to have in our collection.

We would love to add the original "Yackandandah" rail sign to our collection as seen in the photo left. The sign was last known to belong to Jack McLean of Melbourne. If anyone can help us locate or obtain the sign we would love to hear from you.

As we have established the rail museum, any memorabilia associated with the Yackandandah Railway Station, which could be added to our collection would be greatly appreciated.

We are also after a frame to house time clock cards - which we wish to use to display advertising of other local artists.

If you can assist with these or other items you believe would enhance the Yack Station experience please contact us.
